Up at the same time I would be if I was going to work. Of course, I am heading to Seattle like I would normally be, so it's quite similar.

Today is my race - 2009 Furry 5k - just in case no one has picked up on that. :)

Went to bed fairly early (before 10,) and then woke up with my alarm at 5:42 (I snoozed the 5:33 alarm of course.)

Josh is even up on time - but he's going to kill me when he finds out that the race starts at 10:00 not 9:00 like I was thinking, so we're both up an hour earlier than we should be. Whoops.

After my shower, I went to my room to discover that Grocible has thrown up on my freshly cleaned bedding. That lasted a whole 16 hours or so of cleanliness. I put the plastic sheet on the bed (just in case there's an accident while I'm gone,) and start to clean his catbox. That's when I hear the tell tale sound of him pissing on the plastic sheet. Hopefully it's a case of him needing to go but I was in the way, and not a sign of him going back to that awful habit.

And to add to my animal misery, Koda walks into my room after drinking water, and proceeds to throw it up. On floor. In my room.

At least Olive is behaving herself.

Let's see - race predictions:

2006: 29:29 (very first race ever)
2007: 28:05 (goal was to beat the previous year's time - accomplished)
2008: 32:53 (first race with Olive - ran with a co-worker's daughter so no time goal)
and . . .
2009: Between 26:00 and 27:00 would be ideal!

2008 Running Review

2008 was my second full year of running. My first full year, 2007, I managed to log 700.13 miles.

For 2008, my total logged mileage was 1020.99 miles. While not quite 100 miles a month like I attempt, I can't complain too much about that total mileage. An 85 mile per month average is nothing for me to sneeze at.

Total races ran:
5k x2
5k+ x1
10k x1
Half Marathon x1
Full Marathon x1

2008 featured my very first full marathon. I say first because I do have every intention of running another one in the future - possibly two this year (that plan is still far from being finalized.)

This year also featured my first canceled race - but I do have free entry for 2009 - I just hope they will allow Olive to run it too.

For the most part I'm pleased with the running I've done this year. I definitely want to keep improving - especially on my longer runs. When I ran my only 10k this year, I did manage to better my time from two years ago, and that makes me quite proud. My half and full marathon times aren't spectacular by any means, and I would definitely like to improve on the half marathon time at the very least.

After much delay, the Furry 5k pictures are finally posted.

I was really hoping for a good picture of me running with Olive . . .

The first one would have been great if you could see Olive. The second one, while better, isn't as good as I was hoping. Sorry Shanda, I just wish Justice wasn't in it. :)

I'll probably still buy one though - but which one? Leaning towards the second one since you can at least see Olive really well.

Oh - you can see Olive really well in this picture . . .

. . . but you can't see me very well. But Olive looks like she's having a ton of fun.
